Look for the following to transfer very soon:
Chevy Walker (already public)
Jamar Hornsby
Justin Williams
Jarred Fayson
All bitching about lack of playing time.
Coaching staff tried to appease Fayson through the last four games or so, but after the FAU game he was still set on leaving so they sat him out for FSU.

it's a shame but i don't blame anyone for wanting more.
as long as no one is being disrespectful and disruptive to those who want to stay, i'm cool with it.

at least one is being disruptive...actually...it's the momma of the boy. Meyer made the phone call to tell her to STFU.

I'd be embarrassed to have my mommy calling up the coaches, asking to give me playing time.

sorry - thought I included the name, but keep it here for now...it's Hornsby's momma and she's not calling the coaches...she's trying to get other players to leave w/ JH. Whoever will listen basically - thankfully, no one is at this point.

I hope none of them leave. I could make a strong case for all to stay. I hope they really think it through but I guess when you are told from the time you are young that you are great it is hard to sit behind others.

You know, I'm sure Meyer will re-recruit those whom he sees a future for at Florida. Watch him pluck one or two back from the brink. And the rest, godspeed.
If a kid isn't patient enough to work out and learn the first two years, and they think they're going to be a superstar in the MAC or ACC or some other poor excuse for a football conference, probably best that they follow their dream.

I would be even more embarrassed by that. She's calling other players and saying, "Oh, you should transfer because my little angel isn't getting playing time"? Dang, dood, I would be ragging mama's boy Jamar if I got that call. He wouldn't hear the end of it.

What's funny is that Urban said at the beginning of the year that Jamar would get playing time once he started contributing to special teams play, which apparently Jamar didn't want to do. Off the top of my head, I can think of two or three walk-ons who have had punt blocks this year. I know John Curtis had one of them. Think about that--that's a walk-on player who is more committed to the team than some supposedly five star kid. That walk-on contributed more to the team this year than Jamar and I doubt you will ever hear that walk-on complain. That walk-on will probably tell his grandkids about the time he blocked a punt as a player for the University of Florida and damn right he should.

agreed, a1. John Curtis I believe had actually worked his way into the two-deep and has seen playing time in the secondary if I'm not mistaken.

That's right, which makes it even worse for Hornsby. Curtis is a walk-on who was willing to put in the work to get playing time at the same position you play and you're not willing to step up to the plate??? I got no sympathy.
On the other hand, I have all the respect in the world for Mr. Curtis. That's a team player right there.

I posted about this earlier but I don't think I hit submit...anyway, I had stated that Hornsby did not look all that great to me this year, the few times we watched him play...especially on special teams...I remember one time he started jawwing the receiver after he and someone else stopped them on a kick-off...and it was not like he did anything special. Just STFU and sit down big boy. And if I remember correctly, I think many of the blocks in the back that called back Brandon's good runs were because of him...or at least I know he made some foolish plays.
In talking with my FIL, he has said playing special teams really takes courage...especially trying to block punts...many players just don't want to put themselves in the way of the ball...he told me Shawn Jefferson (who played for UCF when he was coaching there) was that type of player. He was always unimpressed with him because he refused to go up and put himself in front of the ball on a punts. But, then again, Jefferson turned out okay, I guess.

do they have a choice??? hell yes. They could not put themselves through all the shit they put up with every year for the
chance that
maybe one day they might see the field.
they play because they friggin want to

i meant - do they have a choice but to do what the coach asks of them? they don't...they walked on...and if they want to play ball, they need to do what the coaches ask of them...at this institution that is.
the other ones...the heralded...they can go anywhere and they picked UF...only their PT was non-existent and they now have a choice...they can follow what the coaches ask or they can leave and pick up somewhere else....walkons can't...they don't have a choice is what i mean by that.
