I can only imagine what kind of a meltdown Swamp Gas was in last night. Did anyone here join in?

I gotta say right now, PHUCK GEORGIA!!!! That whole first touchdown celebration? What a bunch of classless assholes! Too bad we couldn't rub it in their faces.

I was lurking over there during the game. They were definitely in meltdown mode. They are always in meltdown mode.

Of course, I only read a few threads...but from what I saw it was just a lot of "they wanted it more", "our defense is still young and injured", "we could still win the SECeast IF....". I didn't see any attack of the coaches or anything like that. IMO, we have one of the best coaches in the country and the fact is...look around...it's not just us...the entire SEC is struggling when we play each other. But he is still recruiting like a badass and the future is bright. It is practically impossible to be number ONE all the time. People have to get over the SOS years...seriously. The SEC as a conference wasn't nearly as strong back then. And we only won ONE NC...a bunch of SECCG but like I said...LSU sucked, UK, Vandy, Ole Miss, MSU, USCeast, all pretty much sucked...UGA, Bama and Auburn were competitive, and the only real test we had each year was UT...and the Noles (but they aren't SEC).

In any case, I think they were okay over there but again, I only read a few threads. And something I was thinking about...poor Joey...FINALLY UK has a good team and the SECeast is just beating each other up...any one of us could beat another one on any given Saturday. I told Bill that sometimes I wish we were in the Big East or Sunbelt or something...he said "I wish we were independent!"...LOL

saw one thread last night saying that meyer is imploding now that he's relying on "his" recruits. of course there is no mention of all of the juniors that left early for the NFL or that this team is made up of 73% underclassmen.

You think Swampgas is bad, you should see the insider boards. There are people calling for coaches heads in there.

Also, a tidbit floating around. Looks like Jamar Hornsby and Chevon Walker are both off of the team. They sold their BCS rings which is a violation of NCAA rules. Not in stone yet, but that is what it looks like.

If true, WOW!

And I saw enough bashing of the coaches in regular SG to know I wouldn't want to bother with the nonsense on the insiders. These guys just won you a national championship and are now rebuilding with an extremely young team and you're calling for people to be fired? I'm sorry, but the people posting that stuff need to get lives.

what a shameful thing.

the ring symbolizes a championship...a team...a success...a process. and you're gonna SELL THAT off? for what? a couple of hundred? a couple of thousand? dumb kids.

I believe that them selling the ring was more for symbolic purposes then for the money. Both are very highly touted athletes that for whatever reason can not seem to get out of Urban Meyer's doghouse and on the field. Chevy lights up practices and the spring game yet can not even sniff the field. Jamar plays well on special teams and was a 5* recruit out of Tampa and for whatever reason Urban will not play him anything but on special teams.

Not saying I agree with it, I am just saying that I think they did it as kind of an F you to Urban for not being included on the team, hence the rings mean nothing to them.

Before the season started, someone called in to Meyer's call-in show and asked if Hornsby was going to see some playing time. Meyer's answer was that everyone has to contribute on special teams before they get considered for playing time on either side of the ball and that you can't just step on the field and expect playing time at the University of Florida. The way he said it kind of implied that Hornsby has an attitude problem.

regarding Hornsby and Walker:

yes, it's true that they've been suspended. Thus far, they're not off the team though that is still a possibility.

They did sell the BCS rings...the one the bowl gives them. They did not sell the team rings. there is a difference. Their big problem is they also sold their game tickets. That is the big no-no here.

BTW - this info is from bigtimegator21 - as usual as that is where I get most of my info.

^ Good post Hater. When I typed my post I forgot to include the fact that the BCS rings are NOT the National Championship rings. The BCS ring comes from the bowl game and just has a #1 on it. The National Championship rings are the big one's that that UF game them. Those are much more valuable. I could care less about them selling tickets, everyone sells tickets. Although, I am not the NCAA.

I don't give a damn that they sold tickets either. The NCAA cares. It's them making money off their privilege of playing football. Hence the no-no.

I've seen Hornsby make some bone-head plays on kick-offs...just gets too close when someone does a fair catch etc...you see him jawwing with the opposing players...never good to do when you are young and hoping for playing time. Bill has said he's been sort of iffy in his book the few times we did see him. I hadn't heard anything about Chevon though. If they sold their rings...duh. That's just dumb. And don't tell me they are hurting for money...their every need is met by being on the team...what did they need money for that couldn't wait until graduation?

I can not decide which side of the fence I am on regarding this situation. One of my biggest problem with Urban Meyer is that he seems to put someone in his doghouse and never let them out. How Chevy Walker has not played in a game is beyond me. Anyone who has seen him run in practice or the O&B game knows the talent this kid is. He is by far out most impressive back. Hornsby seems to be an incredible talent at a position that we are very thin at.

Major looks good at safety, but he is hurt. Joiner has never really impressed me and RFN erased alot of Joiner's mistakes so nobody realized them. Kyle Jackson is well Kyle Jackson. I just don't know if there are things that we aren't privy too.

As for the tickets, I could give a shit, then again, I am not the NCAA. The rings were bush-league but they not the NC rings so I guess I am ok with that as well, again, I am not the NCAA. The playing time and these guys sitting on the bench at position we are very weak at is the most alarming thing to me.

TT, this situation shows at least some lack of judgment which they could be showing on the field, thus their lack of playing time? obviously we are not at practice so I don't know. I'll call bigtime later and see if he knows anything. Deshawn Wynn comes to mind though to refute the doghouse claim.
