Gators in the Olympics: Final Review
It's been a great summer to be a Florida Gator, as athletes associated with the University of Florida collected a total of 22 medals: 9 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze. The final two medals came on Saturday night, when the U.S. men's 4x100m relay won a silver, with the help of Jeff Demps' run in the preliminaries, and Novlene Williams-Mill assisted the Jamaican women in the 4x400m relay, which won a bronze medal.
The medal total eclipses the Gators' 1984 mark of 20 medals. If UF were a country, it would have been 11th in the total medal count. The only other university that won more medals in these Olympic Games was USC, with Trojan athletes winning 25 medals.
