Yesterday was a HUGE day for the Gators, who won 2 more gold, one silver and one bronze medal.
In women's soccer, Abby Wambach and the US women's soccer team defeated Japan 2-1, clinching another gold medal. Heather Mitts, also on the team, did not play.
In related news, Canada defeated France 1-0 to clinch the bronze medal, but Melanie Booth did not play in the game.
In track and field, Christian Taylor took the gold medal in the triple jump, while US and Florida teammate Will Claye got the silver. Tony McQuay helped the United States' 4x100m relay team advance to the finals.
The Gators now have a total of 19 medals by my count: 9 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze. It's a great summer to be a Gator!
