Since tomorrow's opening ceremony marks the official first day of the Olympics, I'm calling today Day 0 and I've changed yesterday to Day -1.

And, since there are no Gators playing today, I will grace you with featuring one of the lovely female Olympic athletes, a trend I hope to continue on every day when no Gator is competing.

Today's athlete didn't actually make the Olympic team. I hope that's okay - since the Olympics haven't started yet, I figured it would be appropriate to feature a young lady who hasn't yet started her Olympic career.

That athlete is Australia's own Michelle Jenneke. Just 19, Jenneke has become an internet sensation after footage of her warm-up routine went viral. Here's a taste:

But who is this lovely lass? I'm sure some of you may answer, "who cares?", but I for one value women more for their minds and achievements more than their bodies.

...

No, but seriously, Michelle "Shelly" Jenneke, who turned 19 in June, is an Australian hurdler from Kenthurst. She is a rising track star who won a silver medal for the 100 meter hurdles at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics. Most recently, she finished fifth in the 2012 IAAF World Junior Championships 100-meter hurdles on July 15, 2012. She's been hurdling on the track since she was 10.

I like the logic necessary to discuss this fine athlete.
