They only score 20 sports, but only having 21 to choose from at UF puts us at a disadvantage to Stanford. I believe they have like 35 sports to choose the best 20.
IMO it's like playing a rigged game and coming in second is really winning.

Damn that sounds like loser's justification now that I put it out there. Eh, whatever. Still damn good. Go Gators!

Yeah, that's how Stanford wins every year. Check out their list of sports:

Stanford should get credit for having a lot of sports to pick from, but it doesn't mean that much if no one else participates in them. For example, Stanford got the full 100 points for winning women's water polo last year, but there were only 4 teams listed in the Director's Cup standings who got points for it.

I think the Capital One Cup people have a better system - they take the top ten teams from each sport, and they give the popular sports 3x as many points as the unpopular ones.

And we're leading the Capital One Cup on the mens side. Women finished 9th this year. I think the only team that had a shot at passing us on the mens side was UCLA, but I think that since we both made it and were both eliminated already from the CWS, that we will finish on top.
