I'd go with 30%... It's a high number. As maybe a few of you know, I'm involved in a group pushing for safer police pursuits (
http://www.Pursuitwatch.org). As you can imagine, there is a lot of vitriol from officers who think they should be able to chase anyone for anything whenever the fuck they want. We received death threats from them.... POLICE! I've talked to so many assholes in Police departments it unbelievable. Don't get me wrong; there are a lot of good guys out there just trying to make the streets a safe place and I commend them for it. I've worked pretty closely with the chief of police in St. Louis, tulsa, and Orange county sheriff Steve Jones... There are also a ridiculously high number of un-educated assholes who signed up to the police force because they wanted authority...A lot of them think they're above the law.

The fact that so many cops are nothing more than HS grads (or GED) with a gun really pulls down the overall level of competence of the police force, IMO. Combine stupidity with immense power and a bad attitude and you have major problems for freedom loving citizens everywhere.
I'm thankful that cops aren't worse, because they could very easily be as bad as they wanted.

Since I am late to the party, let me give my top three issues:
1. The Iraq War - we need to get our troops out of there ASAP! We have lost too many in this war that we were lied into.
2. The Economy - where do I start with this one? When people realize that one of the reasons our economy is doing poorly is because of the costs of this war, there is no way McBush will win.
3. Health Care - this country needs universal health care. For too long we have been dicking around with this issue and it needs to be resolved. Is is inexcusable that nearly 1 in 6 Americans don't have any type of health care coverage.
Of course, the corporate owned mainstream media is going to focus on "important" issues like Obama's church and whether or not people are bitter. By in large, the MSM consist of empty headed tools. And don't get me started on the RNC propaganda arm that is Fox "News".

AA, Fox 'News" is run by Roger Ailes, the former communications director for Reagan. Their bias is blatant and obvious. CNN is much better.
We will have to agree to diaagree on this one.

I find it incredibly amusing when liberals claim the media is biased against them.

At least with blatant bias you can sift through the lies because you know it's there. You can't tell when CNN is lying to you dood.

I find it incredibly amusing when liberals claim the media is biased against them.
And I find it equally amusing when conservatives drag out the untrue dead horse of the so called liberal media. It is a load of crap that is untrue.
Fox "News" however, IS the RNC propaganda arm.

Calling Fox News the propaganda arm of the RNC is just your form of propaganda, slide. That's the real humor. There's nothing wrong with it, but the statement is obviously biased and untrue, if for no other reason than the RNC has many more arms of propaganda than simply Fox News. Just like the DNC has plenty of ways to get their propaganda out there.
It's politics, darlin.

Yes, that's good news. Unfortunately, they ruled against him on most of the issues, which I thought were pretty substantial, but they gave him a new trial in his home county. Hopefully, his defense attorneys will do a better job this time.
I didn't realize that this thread predated the political forum. I'm just going to leave it here, though.

I may have mentioned this earlier in the thread, but we had a similar situation in the neighboring City of Chesapeake. Cops were serving a No-Knock warrant for narcotics. Kid shot the first cop through the door and has been sentenced to 10 years for voluntary manslaughter. They started the raid at 8:30 PM and my recollection is that even the neighbors said they never heard anyone announce that it was a police action. (old news articles here
http://hamptonroads.com/tags/shiversshooting )
The kid was supposedly (according to a "police informant") growing and distributing pot. But after the raid, there was no massive growing operation of distribution ring to bust up. The most they could get on that angle (as part of the conviction) was misdemeanor possession. Has always looked to me like an over zealous raid by the cops that went bad and they wanted this kid put away for capital murder. Sad, sad story all around.
I hope Maye gets a better outcome this time around.

1. Less shit and more food in our food.
2. Better-fitting brassieres for all American women.

interesting... i may check out their regular bras too then. the one i got was outrageously expensive, but necessary for the dress. where do you buy them?
i'm a loyal victoria's secret shopper, but can be swayed. i find pretty good deals on nice stuff at the semi-annual sale, and every now and then they do 2/$40ish on cotton bras.

Once I knew my true size (got professionally measured), I ordered them off Ebay. I can get them for under $40 there. It's hit and miss, but I do find my size fairly regularly.

I like that the political thread has evolved into a serious discussion of bras. Not even being sarcastic.
