the marlins really suck. our starting pitching is woafull. relievers are actually pretty damn good, the problem is none of the starters will be able to throw 200+ innings. hopefully oleson can eat up 180 or so, but besides him....

i'm going this sunday and pumped up.

TT - if your friend can hook me up with any tickets i'd greatly appreciate it. i'll find some way to repay you, easiest way would be with pga tour passes, but i don't think there are events back in florida for a while besides the championship. anyway, any weekend games or weekday night games i'd be able to go. excpt for weekends in may and the 2 weeks i'm heading for the oregon trail.

TT, I do the GameDay Audio subscription every year so that I can listen to games live via streaming audio. I'm a radio guy -- I love listening to baseball, love it far more than sitting down and watching it on TV. You ever tried it?

I do listen to some games on radio. Phil Rizzuto was fanatastic as the voice of the Yankees. Some of the great voices that I actually have listened to are Vin Scully, Bob Eucker, Harry Caray and probably my favorite all-time was Ernie Harwell. He was a magician describing the action. When you listen to Ernie, it is like the two of you are sitting there together and he is telling you a story.
i got the radio subscription. i enjoy baseball on the radio. bob eucker is my favorite. vin scully is pretty good too. i was sad to see dave angel (i think that was his name) leave the marlins to go to the cubs. he's good.

marlins have 18 home runs thru the 4th inning of tonight's (friday 4/11) game.

if only they could get 2 starting pitchers and a defensive minded third baseman....

Dood, you should have gotten in on the action.

P.S. Pena hit another HR just now.

i don't mind gettin in on a mets/marlins bet...you just have to spot me the difference so we can start off at even....then i'll require at least 7 HRs on top of that since my guys are not HR oriented so it seems.

marlins are up to 20...or 21, i can't remember if the last run last night was a homer or not.

anyway, i haev no problem with starting right now at zero. however, i will not spot you runs. joe robbie is a big ball park and the mets have that going for them.

btw -what's the bet?

the bet is a dollar a difference come end of the regular season...

as far as marlins/mets, i'm all for it assuming you spot me the difference at this point in time PLUS 7 ... if you don't like those terms, you can go eat a d (or, you can negotiate the terms)

^^^^i'm not willing to give you any additional runs. if you do not think that it is a good bet to put your mets line up against the marlins then you shouldn't make the bet.

forget the dollar difference bet, i don't like that. how about this; if the marlins have more home runs between now and when i fly to ny on may 15, you pick up the bar tab shall we meet at a drinking establishment. however, if the mets hit more homers, then i will pick up the tab. if there is a tie, we each buy the other a round of their choice.
