LOST - SPOILERS AHEAD!

:bttt:

Doc, I need your help in understanding tonight's episode...
Doesn't Ben know who Desmond is? And if he does, wouldn't he have a file on him too? Why didn't he say anything about Penny since he knows who her father is? And who by the way, DOES know about Penny besides Charlie...Hurley maybe?[/spoiler:1wsnm2al]
You know, I don't know if Ben knows about Desmond or not. I don't think the two ever really met, and Desmond was not on Oceanic 815. He got shipwrecked and then pushed the button in the hatch for 3 years.

Ben's got to know who he is, though, and I can't imagine someone as smart as Ben would remain ignorant of the connection between Widmore and Desmond.

I think Charlie was really the only one that Desmond confided in about Penny, but now that Charlie's dying message has gotten out, I think most of the major players know: Jack, Locke, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, Sayid and Claire.[/spoiler:1wsnm2al]
Also, I am concerned from for Sun and Claire...the moms of course. And who is the familiar face...I'm assuming Michael and I'm assuming HE is Ben's guy on the boat...i'm pissed that they made it seem like Ben was going to tell US as well as Locke and we didn't. I think that it must be Michael because why else would Locke have let Ben go like he did if Ben didn't share something really good?[/spoiler:1wsnm2al]
What? No concern for us fathers?

Yeah, I'm pissed off that they teased us like that, too. I think most of the fans have already guessed that Michael is Ben's man on the boat, though I'd love it to be Mr. Eko. We already know that the actor who plays Michael is going to be returning in the first 8 episodes, and I don't think it'll be in a flash-forward or flashback.[/spoiler:1wsnm2al]

The guy on the boat..... when ben told him to sit down.... I started to wonder if it was Echo or the guy that fell out of the plane (you know the sister brother deal)
I'm hoping for Eko, but I know he hasn't been rumored to appear on the show again, at least not this season. Fell out of a plane? You mean Boone? Technically, he was still inside the plane when it fell.

I don't think the folks who die and are buried on the island come back in anything other than ghost form. Mikhail was an exception, as he was a badass, but the producers said that he was really dead this time.

But he would also make for a good man on the boat. Hell, maybe it's Walt. No one would suspect a kid, would they? And it would explain how Locke saw him last season.

I loved Mr. Eko as well, but I think he is dead and gone and not likely to return. Michael is the most likely candidate because he left so mysteriously and no one knew where he went. If Walt is involved, I wonder how they are explain his age and growth. It would be easier to just find another kid actor to play him, but I'm sure they will figure out some time travel excuse.

I don't think they have any problem explaining his growth with all the time anomalies going on.

One thing I was just reminded of...since we now know Penny's dad is involved, does anyone remember what he was bidding on at that auction where Desmond saw him last week? I wonder if it could be a clue. Although I believe he saw him in his 1997 life. Dunno...just thought he might have won the boat or something.

^^^^ It was the ship's log from the Black Rock (the old ship that is marooned in the middle of the island).

I wasn't watching it as much the season when they discovered that ship. Did they tell any stories about it? Also, in the auction, how did they describe the log and where the ship was...did they say? What did they say about the log?

I don't remember which season they discovered the ship. I think it was season 2, when that one guy blowed himself up with the dynamite they found in the ship's hold.

I think they said at the auction that the ship was lost at sea but a pirate was found to have the ship's log on Madagascar.

I have finally gotten really MAD about an episode...
there was absolutely NO reason other than to just trick us, for them to make us think Jin made it off the island[/spoiler:9ij5aumx]...it was just awful! Yet another episode that made my CRY out loud. Argh.

And then I cannot believe
Juliet went there with Sun and Jin![/spoiler:9ij5aumx] That was a big ol' "oh no she di-int"

As assumed it was
Michael on the boat as Ben's spy. Obviously Ben is using Walt to make Michael do things for him.[/spoiler:9ij5aumx] Interesting what the captain of the boat said...so I didn't understand...
They are saying that Ben staged that all the planes passengers were killed with what? 300 dead Darma people? Then what was Whitmore doing out there? Why would he be interested in the 815? Or did his boat just happen upon the plane while looking for the island for Desmond? Why would Penny's dad be looking for Desmond without Penny knowing about it?[/spoiler:9ij5aumx]

Ugh...I still can't get over how sad that ending was...it was just heart breaking!

I agree. There was absolutely no reason for that other than to trick the audience.
And then I cannot believe
Juliet went there with Sun and Jin![/spoiler:1iz1uheb] That was a big ol' "oh no she di-int"
I thought I had a smiley for "Oh no you di-int," but I can't find one.
As assumed it was
Michael on the boat as Ben's spy. Obviously Ben is using Walt to make Michael do things for him.[/spoiler:1iz1uheb] Interesting what the captain of the boat said...so I didn't understand...
They are saying that Ben staged that all the planes passengers were killed with what? 300 dead Darma people? That's what the captain said, all right, but I don't know whether we should believe him. Clearly, someone staged the fake 815 at the bottom of the ocean. The boat captain said it was Ben's organization, but I wouldn't be surprised if Widmore had something to do with it or had his own motives. Both Ben and Widmore can be bad guys.

Widmore's company has ties to both the Hanso Foundation and to Paik Industries (which is run by Sun's father and who Jin worked for). See http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Widmore

Those connections aren't obvious if you only watch the show, but I think they'll become apparent during the final two seasons.
Ugh...I still can't get over how sad that ending was...it was just heart breaking!
Don't worry. There's more to that scene than meets the eye.
I subscribe to the theory, popular with fans, that Jin isn't dead at all. The tombstone had his date of death as September 22, 2004 - the day that 815 crashed. Hurley was acting kind of suspiciously and Sun - although she was obviously upset that Jin wasn't there - didn't really say he was "dead" or "gone" or anything like that. I think that Jin is either still on the island or in the United States.[/spoiler:1iz1uheb]

^^^Thanks for that Doc...that gives me some hope. I was so annoyed with how they tricked us and then made me cry...argh.

What is the Hanso Foundation again? I recognized Paik as being the company Sun's dad runs.

Hanso Foundation is the group that was originally on the island, running experiments like making cats push the button to reset the countdown. They're the ones the survivors saw on the films they found in the hatch in the first season. They're also the folks Ben killed with his gas attack.

The Hanso Foundation is the financing behind the Dharma Initiative.

Also, note that the captain of the Black Rock, Magnus Hanso, was the great-grandfather of Alvar Hanso.

But who did it?
Kill Rousseu and Karl I mean? I couldn't figure that out. I was also surprised that Sayid turned in Michael...what will THAT lead to...I mean Michael can't die or anything. And does Whitmore want to find the island or does he want to get to the bottom of what happened to Oceanic 815? I'm assuming its the former, but how would he know about the island again? Maybe he's trying to cure himself of cancer and he knows that the island is healing? But if that were the case then why would he want to kill everyone on the island?[/spoiler:1l8lyfeh] I don't get...my head hurts...argh.

You'll have to wait until April 24 to find out.
I think the dudes who were firing the guns in Michael's flashback killed Rousseau and Carl. Remember last episode, or two episodes ago when Lapidus went on a mysterious mission with the helicopter? He was probably taking those guys to the island.

Rumor has it that a future episode will feature a Rousseau flashback, so I don't think she's dead (although they had a Naomi flashback after she died, so anything's possible).

Does Widmore have cancer? I must've missed that. Regardless, it's clear he doesn't have pure motives. Otherwise, it would be a rescue mission and not a "get Benjamin Linus and kill everyone else" mission.[/spoiler:2ljuvuig]

What does the future hold? The Oceanic 6 obviously get off the island and leave everyone else behind, but how and why? They must get onto the freighter, but do they cut a deal with Widmore or do they steal the freighter in the hopes that they'll be able to get back to the island and rescue the people left behind?

Stay tuned.
