$10 says rad has been waiting to use that line since Sutcliffe brought up the incident about the black cat earlier in the game.

Mets lookin' at catching up on yardwork next week -- tied with the Brewers again for the wild card, and guess which team chokes worse than Mickelson?

Steal that Shea Stadium shit now, ye faithful.

FWIW...

Rays have the Magic number down to 1. They are currently 1.5 back from the Angels for the best record in the AL (Angels currently tied at 2 in the 5th - if they lose, the Rays are just 1 game back), and 1/2 game back from the Cubbies for the best record in baseball (if they can overtake the Angels as well).

Would be the first team in MLB history to go from worst to best in one season.

The only thing better than watching the Mets lose last night was watching the Mets lose in HD last night. Go Brewers.

FUCK, Sox have blown a 6-1 lead to the Twins and now are in the 9th. Twins definitely have the Sox's number -- this series has been one dagger after another.

I buried my Yankees a month and a half ago. The Mets collapse at the end of the year was way better.

Them's some mighty expensive teams to be sitting in the garage in October, I'll say that.

Now to fret over the White Sox, who did some folding of their own this past week. Fuckin' Twins.

there are 20+ teams in the league that would wish to play for something on the final day...sadly, the mets are 0for2 the last two years on final days...still - it's exciting to be playing for something.

The three highest payroll teams in MLB all missed the playoffs. My complaint with the Yankees for the last 6-8 years is that they can't seem to understand that pitching wins. The Yankees, Mets and Tigers all had sub-par pitching.

i'm anxious to see how the mets address the bullpen this offseason....no billy wagner for 2009 is a huge hurdle.

White Sox have to win today and win tomorrow: so of course there's a rain delay.
