I just hope they don't dump the team like the Marlins did after they got good.

I don't think there's much need to worry there. The current owners have really been doing a lot to show their commitment to the team.

I remember TT asking me if the Rays would have even one pitcher with 8 wins on the season. Andy Sonnanstine just put up his 10th win of the season last night.

P.S. The All-Star roster is a joke.

a1, I don't think the All-Star roster is released yet - don't think it is released until 2 pm.

Hater, they may be lying, but the New York Post published what they claimed was the roster yesterday. That's what I'm basing my comment on, but hey, I could've had the wool pulled over my eyes by those cats.

remember MSNBC also had a list of who was going to be in the Steroid report.

the NY Post could be right...but I wouldn't worry about it yet.

I have ate shit about my comments about the Rays ths year. As far as the AS rosters are concerned. Did you expect any different? It is a popularity contest.

David Ortiz making it, even though he's been hurt for a huge part of the season, is BS.

Indeed, but the fan vote is a popularity contest, plain and simple. Either way, Milton Bradley will step into his role and another reserve will be picked up.

Hey Jimmy, The Braves won in extra extra extra innings tonight.

I saw that. 17 innings. Good. They've got to stay within shooting range at the break and then hope for some kind of resurgence coming out of the break.

Anyone know the score of the Rays game? Last I saw it was 3-2 KC in the 4th.

Where you at, Josh? I have noticed you have been absent from this thread for the past few days. I wonder if you would have been posting if the Rays would have beat the Yankees?

Heck, if the Rays had beat the Yankees, I would've been sending you pm's dood. Rays haven't been playing their best this week, but it makes some sense, since we called up a bunch of players from the minors to give the starters some extended rest.

The thing that's puzzling the locals (myself included) is the slump that Scott Kazmir gone into with his pitching. He's usually lights out, but of late, he hasn't looked himself. He's trying to overpower everyone with his fastball and not trusting his slider, which means he's throwing way too many pitches. Even when we beat the Red Sox last week, my friend and I were saying that Kaz looked like shit compared to what he normally throws.

That is funny. I was really hoping the Yankees would have went out and got C.C. from the tribe. That would have shored up our rotation somewhat and maybe gave me hope for making the playoffs this year. I think the AS break came at the wrong time for the Yankees and a great time for the Rays.

I still think the Rays will make the playoffs. I don't think they will win the east but I think they get the wildcard. If they play .500 ball the rest of the year, they will win like 90 games. That will get them in.

You guys had some young doods playing these past couple of days who looked really good. Maybe they should get more of a look.

But tell Giambi to shave off that pornstache.

The young kid Gardner who is lightning fast is going to be the center fielder of the future for the Yankees, I believe. I have watched him over the last week and his average is awful but he is killing the ball. They just aren't falling.

The pitching is what worries me. I was really hoping they would get C.C. Next year it would have given them a starting four of Wang, C.C., Joba and Phil Hughes. I would put that up against anyone in the bigs.

I am just hoping for a collapse from the Rays or rs. I think the Yanks are 6.5 back, which isn't huge but that is a few more games then they would like. I was hoping they could get it down to under 4 games.

Also, I hate that fucking mustache and I am a huge Yankees fan. He is lucky George stepped down. He hates facial hair and would have made him shave it.

you could still have C.C. for next year. No way he signs with Milwaukee after the year is over.

I doubt it. If they don't make a run, they will trade him off before the deadline to get some prospects back. No wa they traded all of those prospects for a three month run. Small market teams can't operate like that.
