I think either side will be ranting. If McCain wins, it will disenfranchise (sp) a lot of the youth and black supporters and there's bound to be people looking for fraud. If Obama wins, it will scare the piss out of the tin foil hat crowd who thinks he's going to put a rag on his head and bring his terrorist pals out to play... and then there's the old fashioned racists.
If McCain wins, I want him to get the best doctors in the world.

I'm with you in that I don't think many (if any, at all) people will go "ape shit" and commit violent acts, but that's because the majority of the racists know it's socially unacceptable and would never publicly show their ignorance. Do you disagree that there is an embarrassingly large portion of the population that will be upset if a black guy wins the election?

You guys don't think that there will be racist groups attempting to commit violence? I think there will be some who go apeshit.

I'm not going to rule anything out and wouldn't be totally shocked if something were to happen, but most of them are cowards.

The only racist groups to go apeshit will be the ones in the projects if Obama loses. Mark my words...if he loses, parts of LA, Oakland, Chicago etc will burn.
But that won't hold a candle to the riots that will happen when Ole Barak totes a bullet after about a year or so in office.

Its absolutely sad. I agree. But its how I see it. I think this country is pretty much beyond saving, and I don't think it will be around for too much longer...maybe 2 or 3 generations before it all falls apart and has to be rebuilt.
We're pretty much circling the bowl right now and are on our way to the tank. *shrug*

Rad:
To really answer that question would take quite awhile. But here are the high points.
1) We have become a lazy, weak-minded, soft, complacent nation. True, there are people out there who are willing to work and work hard and be honest, but they are the exceptions to the rule. We don't have the collective will to rise up to a threat and do the barbaric things needed to eradicate it. The idea of the general population having to sacrifice like they did in WW2 for the war effort alone is just laughable in today's culture. Weak. Soft. Entitled.
2) We have given over far too much of our individual power and rights to the courts. Everything we do today is done at the edict of a judge. A judge over which we often have no direct electoral control. The Nine Black Robed Apparitions in Washington are allowed to make laws up out of whole cloth.
3) Political correctness has turned from an isolated cancer into a systemic killer. We are no longer allowed to be 'individuals' or 'have our own opinions and state them' unless we are members of the protected classes. We are not allowed to notice things about the protected classes and we damn sure aren't allowed to SAY a damn thing.
4) Our school systems have become absolutely laughable as institutions of learning. Discipline is non-existent. Corporal punishment and respect have been completely removed. They are now institutions of liberal indoctrination more concerned with little Bobby's 'self image' than teaching the little demon to sit still and do his fucking work.
5) As a society we no longer value the things that made this country great: Hard Work, Core Families, acceptance of responsibility for our actions, frugality, ingenuity and rugged individualism. Now its all about "me me me" give money to the poor, the homeless, the indigent. Don't worry about the flood of Mexicans screaming across the border illegally. Now its all about wallowing in 'white guilt' over all the 'horrible things' weve done over the years.
I could go on and on...but it won't matter. Especially not after this coming election.

I think our country, as we currently know it, will cease to exist in the next 50 years. I'm not saying the U.S. won't exist, just that none of us would recognize it if we saw it. I have the feeling that we are currently undergoing fundamental shifts in several of our paradigms that have only begun.
