Here's a tip to avoid getting caught through a matchup of your IP address:

Use a proxy server to post when you do it under your assumed identity. One of the easiest ways that I've found is to use a tool called [url=http://tor.eff.org/]Tor[/url]. Once installed and running, Tor will connect you to a random proxy server every time you connect to the internet. If you use Firefox (which you should), there's even an [url=https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2275]extension[/url] that allows you to enable/disable it with one click.

I of course won't tell anyone that I'm here.

as far as anyone is concerned, ricardo cabeza could be recruiting for the BP ... no one knows.

I'm disappointed that some of those folks are in the "Hole." While I don't think that disqualifies them as good candidates for membership here, it certainly does pose a question of where their loyalties lie and whether they can be trusted not to talk about us. Perhaps our "feeling out" messages should include a warning that membership in our little secret society is only good so far as it remains a secret. That is, if they blab, then they're out - and we're watching.

Now that swashbuckler's been banned, we need a better strategy if we want to infiltrate the Hole.

First, use a proxy server like I described, above, and throwaway email address. Nothing will get you banned quicker than someone checking IP addresses against your known identity.

Second, when a new poster in the Pub suddenly sparks a flurry of activity from known BA'ers like me, AnnArbor, thewegian and others it just looks like a flat-out raid. Not to mention the sudden appearance of other new posters like ricardo cabeza.

Third, it'll take some time. Someone needs to be dedicated and post stuff that's awfully interesting to the powers that be in the Hole.
