I don't care about MTV or any of their Road Rules or "Real World" tv shows.

I don't care about it.

The Real World hasn't been "real" since it's inception.

I don't care about it.

The All-Star Game is not on in my house. I'll be writing, drinking, and reading.

A pox on baseball until Bud Selig is in prison or his body dies a villain's death.

I don't care about it.

The British Open is a good old sports event and I cannot look down my considerably long nose at it.

And you know what they say: long nose, long personality.

But here's who should be sunk to the bottom of the sea: all those assholes at golf tournaments who holler "In the hole!" or what have you. S T F U.

I don't care about it.

"You Da Man", "In Da Hole" etc. etc. blah, blah. I often curse those folks out loud as I watch golf. I couldn't agree more with you on this one.
Insert Gone's Penn avatar with the S...T....F....U!!!!!

I don't care about it.

Do we get any relief? Is the British Open relatively asshole-spectator-free?

I mean, what the fuck? Be quiet. Golf is a quiet game.

I don't care about it.

I'm thinking stupidity is rampant worldwide. It may be less of an issue but I don't think it's gone.

"get in the hole" in the US = "come hither into the thicket you bloody scallywag" in the UK

Thank God it's August, motherfuckers. I'm getting Redskins practice reports on the radio. Though I watch the Redskins in the same posture one uses when watching a train crash -- wow, that's interesting, glad I'm not on it -- the thing that redeems these practice reports is this one simple thing:

The Redskins play FOOTBALL, bitches.

What do we have, like five weeks till the fateful day when Senior Tim Tebow leads the Gators out? I remember when Wuerffel was a senior. We had a hell of a lot of weapons then (first names are all we need: Fred. Terry. Jacquez. Ike. Reidel. Chris. And that's just offense). But we knew, man, it was gonna be a different world after Wuerffel graduated. The program was now a top-flight racer, no doubt, but we were about to lose the best driver on the circuit.

I cannot wait to be sipping politely on beers and murmuring gentle encouragement to the boys who represent my alma mater.

June and July: good riddance. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

I don't care about it.

I've never cared for summer. Weird void of a time where fun is, apparently, mandatory in 100-degree heat. Save me some September.

I don't care about it.

I used to be all heat, all the time, but I have noticed the wuss taking over.

Summer fun is a yankee conspiracy. They're just pissed they're stuck indoors from November through February. I'll be on the boat out on the lake in the middle of winter and love every minute of it. No skeeters, no heat stroke, and unending fun to be had.

I don't care about it.

It's the age factor Toothy! Hate to break it to ya brother, but the older you get the harder it is to take the heat. When I was in my teens and twenty's 90's on the lake was tolerable and I mean All Day! Dip the hat and the t-shirt in the lake and keep on keepin on.

The cold becomes a factor in another 30 years or so...

The cold has always been a factor for me, which is why I attended Florida rather than Pittsburgh or Stanford for graduate school. I was a resident of Minneapolis, MN 55408 the day I was admitted to graduate school, and Gainesville sounded perfect to me.

I don't care about it.

OMFG, this was a good old thread from beginning to end. I think that every April or May, we should strike up a Thread of Apathy and Loathing that carries us through until grizzled, bearded, 49-year-old Caleb Sturgis kicks the ball off.

My depression and sense of general lostness this summer were owed in great part to the fact that there was no place to focus my apathy and loathing, other than myself.

I don't care about it.

I've been doing my best this summer, despite two deaths in the family and one diet. If I can start threads when I'm depressed and hungry, then the rest of you mofos can start some threads, too. Get cracking, you! Seriously--do you really want a board full of threads that *I* start? How many complaints about students do you want to read?

I don't care about it.

Wait, wait, wait. Nothing here even remotely suggested that anyone should be doing their best.
