I personally think this was just a democratic move to make it easier to put a democrat in his seat in 2010 (among other things I know). Looks like the whole census thing I mentioned earlier had a little to do with it. I'm sure they will claim he didn't want his past dug in to...meh.

gregg is a fiscal conservative and just stated he was uncomfortable serving in BHOs cabinet and not being 100% behind all his initiatives.
he cited the stimulus and the census issues.
i think it's incredibly unselfish of him to withdraw knowing he'd not be on board with a lot of how BHO does things.
should be interesting as to who BHO names as his replacement.

Gregg probably felt very out of place for not having any tax evasion issues in his past.
