So who here thinks Auburn did well in hiring Gene Chizik? An Auburn friend of mine said they're already calling
him ChiZook. It looks like Alabama is about to take over the West unopposed. Ole Miss will be their only
competition for a while, maybe LSU.

It is an awful hire. I just wish they were on the rotation for next year or the year after, because that's all I think he's going to last.

That is hilarious. Couldn't happen to a better town in Alabama.

Okay, so I just read the Wiki page on Chizik.

W T F? Dude was 5-19 in two years at Iowa State. Lost his LAST TEN GAMES. How in the hell does that get you a gig in the SEC -- not just the Vandy or MSU or KY job (sorry, Joey, but it's true), but a gig at Auburn? How does that get you that job?

Over Tommy Tuberville, a proven guy?

W T F? Can anyone explain this to me?

I thought Sir Charles did an excellent job with his explanation.

Sir Charles may have hit the nail on the head.

I hate Auburn more than Bammer 3. I was at the 1994 game in the Swamp. They earned my hate from that game.

The 2002 OT win at home over Auburn is one of my favorite wins of all time...I remember cheering when Cadillac went down only to have Ronnie Brown come in and run all over us. Then when they intercepted and drove into FG position, there were people streaming down the aisles to the exits on the alumni side. I remember standing on the bleacher in front of me, shooting birds at all the quitters walking down the aisles, yelling, "They still have to KICK THE BALL!! They still have to kick the ball!!"

And I'll be god DAMNED if we didn't block the kick to send it to OT and then Rexy worked his magic to TJ. I was slightly embarrassed because we were sitting with my buddy's mom that game, but I think she understood.

To this day, if I had the power, I would proclaim that any Gator "fan" who left Ben Hill that day before Aubrin attempted the FG to be banished for life from that hallowed ground.
I've never met a retarded person who wasn't smiling.

That was a game I'll never forget either. Mostly because I was at the 2001 game where we lost to Auburn on a last second FG when we were ranked #1 going into the game. All I could think as they drove into FG position in 2002 was "I've seen this before..."

AA, I understand what you're saying, and I"m not even going to tell you you're wrong...because you're not...however, if any of those alumni leaving were at the 2001 game....I understand. I was dreading having to watch the same outcome again.

Yea I probably wouldn't actually enforce my planned edict...but it's a good line to drop on folks to who sat through that scary ass game and OT.
