Basketball rumors

Since this isn't GC I get to post rumors I'm hearing:

Speights is gone. He's had grade issues and is expected to go 13th - 15th in the 2008 draft. Couple that with a couple of brothers that could use some financial support and you can see where this is headed.

Apparently the coaching staff might be in for a change. They aren't happy with the progress of the bigs and Coach Preston might be gone because of that. I've heard that he isn't as vocal as they would like so don't be surprised if a change is made in the off season.

I'm not expecting you to reveal sources (unless you want to), but how reliable have these sources been in the past?

I don't have a real source. I hear stuff from my folks who know people that are close to the basketball program. They are normally pretty reliable. I PMed someone over at GC and they said they've been hearing the same things about Preston.

ok. cool. I was just trying to get a feel for what level rumor mongering (sp?) we were dealing in...sounds like a pretty good level (good = reliable).

still don't know who Sayre is though, eh?

no, but I have my suspicions. There are only a couple of people that have been with the program as long as he's been saying he's involved.

I'd say the level of basketball insiderness I have is pretty good. My dad is the treasurer of the Gator Tip-Off club and my folks know a bunch of people who know people.
