Took the dad in law to his beloved nole baseball games this weekend. My very obnoxious cousin sits several rows behind us and repeatedly screamed questions to me concerning our baseball team this year (strengths, schedule, etc). Things like "Hey, Lucy, how's your Gators doing this year, Who's gonna be your star, etc." Of course, the cousin irritated me to the extent that I had to stand up, turn around and chomp him, thereby lending myself to much harrassment from "the animals"-the fsu obnoxious fan group. I am very embarrased to admit that I have not paid one bit of attention to the baseball team this year and would greatly appreciate some info. I figure you guys won't harrass me as much as some folks would on, say, another site.

Pitching staff won't be anything to shout home about. The defense should be improved over last season. They will be much more aggressive on the bases in terms of running and stealing. Brandon McArthur should be the star hitter as well as Cole Figuroa. B-Mac hitting 4th and Fig hitting 3rd. They just played their first series against Sienna and swept them. They have a couple mid week games against W Michigan and then head down to Miami for a three game series this weekend. The scheduling is pretty much the same every year. Early season they always play Miami and FSU at some point while mixing in some teams from up North and from around the state. Then they get going into SEC play which is a very difficult conference.

Todd, I think it's Eastern Michigan (not that it matters), but the good guys appear to have played well in this first series, though we gave up a few HRs to a team that hit 26 as a team all year last year.
Freshman Adams (can't remember if it's Josh or Jonathan) hit 2 HRs yesterday including a Grand Slam.

Mommy, UF took one today from Miami, ranked either #9 or #14 depending on what poll you're looking at. They lost on Friday because they couldn't hit and lost on Saturday after leading early and then having some serious defensive errors to blow the game. Toledo looked good today.

Cole Figuerora (tallahassee lincoln alum) hit a Grand Slam in the 8th to provide the difference in the 6-2 win.
