we'll let's see...the early candidates to debate amongst would be:

Bobby Knight (all-time winningest coach)
Krzyzyzyzkdwechefski (the dook guy)
Roy Williams
Boeheim
Calhoun
Leonard Hamilton

of course I don't think many of these names belong in the discussion, but it's always better to start w/ more candidates than necessary and wittle your way down.

Thinking current...Knight is out...too far past his prime, IMO. Williams, Boeheim, Calhoun and Pitino I'll leave on the list.

Boeheim deserves to be on that list. I wonder what he could have done at a basketball power school. Most AAU stars aren't knocking down his door to go to SU.

Before reading that article, I didn't realize that Billy D. has NEVER been named SEC coach of the year.

What's a guy got to do to win that? I just kind of assumed that the guy who wins the SEC Tournament or the guy who has the best record in the SEC would be coach of the year. I mean, isn't the SEC coach of the year in football given to the guy who wins the SEC Champ. game?

I knew that Billy hadn't won it yet. He should have gotten it two years ago. Last year he was expected to win and did. This year though, if he doesn't win it, I'm personally going to burn down Birmingham, Al.
