Let me start off by saying that I don't particularly like message boards because of all of the "speculation" and "inside sources," so the following is strictly my observations from College Gameday this morning.
*Noticeably absent from the group were Julio Jones, Jamie Harper, and Daniel Andrews.
(NOTE: Harper and Andrews are playing the Florida Shine Bowl Saturday afternoon and will travel to Gainesville when it's over. Jones was scheduled to come in for a Monday visit) - Mark Wheeler.
*I am still not sure what Jeffrey Demps looks like and therefore can't confirm he was there.
*When the fans saw Urban come in with the recruits, they first chanted Julio Jones' name (again, he was not present) and then they cheered for Omar Hunter. No other recruits were mentioned by name by the fans.
*Tim Tebow came in about 10 minutes after the group, grabbed Ramon Buchanan's hands and had him do the Gator chomp.
*William Green had on his best poker face.
*Lerentee McCray is a big dude.
*Omar Hunter is a bit smaller than I had expected. Although he wasn't in pads or anything, he was however in a Gator sweatshirt.
*Hunter seemed to be having a pretty good time. He was bobbing his head a little during the band's rendition of "You Can Call Me Al" and I saw him spend some time talking to Dee Finley.
*Frankie Hammond was wearing sporting a "954" hat...Broward County represent!
*Some guy went up to Frankie Hammond's dad and asked him to take a picture of him with Urban Meyer. Since Mr. Hammond was on the phone (and the father of a recruit), I thought it was a disrespectful.
*Tebow and Meyer took a plethora of pictures and signed boatloads of autographs...so much for the UAA's edict that Tebow not do it.
*The recruits got the opportunity to go on the court during Gameday and hang out for a little. All in all, the trip to the O'Dome seemed pretty successful.
*On a final, unrelated note, the entire basketball team braved the cold and was waiting outside for Gator Dining to open at 10:30. After eating Wheaties, the breakfast of champions, I am convinced tonight will be the 7th straight ass whopping against Kentucky.
