Exactly, I thought Corso was pretty much viewed by everyone like that so to see someone using a Corso quote is pretty funny.

All the talking heads are buffoons, no one disputes that.
Answer me this, though...
Do you really think Tebow is NOT deserving of the praise he's received?

I do NOT believe McFadden is deserving. IMO, no moreso than Brennan, and I damn sure don't think he is deserving.

Florida is no where near being on an equal stage as UK in basketball, never will. Teams get hot here and there. They come and go. UNLV, Michigan(didnt they make a great two year run???) Billy D had a once in a lifetime class in the 04's. Don't get ahead of yourself proclaiming UF a basketball dynasty yet.
The implication of the first paragraph is blatantly inconsistent with the sentiment of the second (taken from the Music City Bowl thread).UK has depth but whatever. Nobody will ever be good enough to beat the GatorNation. Why does anyone in the SEC even play football. I guess its just a God given right for UF to be the SEC champ. Oh yeah they didn't take care of business and win their own games

I guess the sense of sarcasm is not so obvious in the second paragraph, my bad

sense of sarcasm is there, Joe. The point is still the same.I guess the sense of sarcasm is not so obvious in the second paragraph, my bad
You insist that despite UF's recent run they're not a dynasty yet. However, Kentucky should be considered among the SEC big boys because they made it the Music City Bowl twice.
You must be able to see the difference?
Rich Brooks was about to be fired...probably will be again in a year or two, recruiting is average and that won't get it done in the SEC...ask Mike Shula, or Spurrier now at South Carolina.
Billy is getting top 5 classes every year at UF and UF is outrecruiting, and of late, out playing UK in basketball, too. UF is MUCH closer (if not equal to) UK in basketball than you'd like to think, and UK is MUCH farther away from UF football than you'd like to think.

No, no. The sarcasm expressed YOUR sentiment of disdain for Gators feeling the same sense of entitlement UK feels about bball

Some tOSU fan at work just told me he's not impressed with Tebow. He's also all jacked up that they're playing in the national championship. I had to laugh at that.

Oh I will give Tebow praise but the overall sense of what he is given is above and beyond a normal level of "praise" When the man is constantly referred to as "superman" its gets kind of silly. The national media is lined up to just give Timmy anything he wants. Why isn't McFadden or Brennan worthy of praise. McFadden did rush for over 200 yards for a win against the team that is playing for the national championship. How did Tim do against LSU? Probably gaudy stats but his team also came away with a loss. I have never proclaimed that UK should be thought of as one of the "big boys" of the SEC. Im just happy we are off probation, have our scholarships back and are competitive. This is the first year in a long time when UK didn't lose any of their games by over 17 points in a season. Rich is turning the corner and laying a solid foundation. As for as Billy out recruiting UK yes he has the last couple of years and that is why Tubby is gone. Lets give our Billy a few seasons to rebuild and see where they are. Hell before the 04's Billy was always out recruiting most schools but then again he was losing in the first round of the tourney with all his Mickey D All Americans like Walsh and Roberson. His one previous Final Four before that he was one last second shot from being bounced by Butler. Back to football. I dont think the difference from the top to the bottom of the SEC isnt that great anymore. Did you watch the season this year. On any given Saturday any team in the SEC could beat another one except for maybe Ole Miss beating anyone. UF clobbers UT but look who represents the East. UGA runs all over UF and they are left at home. UK beats Arkansas and then Arkansas goes down to Baton Rouge and beats LSU. The gap is closing

I didn't say McFadden or Brennan weren't worthy of any praise, just not more than Tim. McFadden was a no show in several of their games this year (most notably, Auburn, FIU, and Miss State). Brennan threw 9, count 'em, 9 picks combined against Idaho and San Jose State...Heisman worthy? You must be kidding.Oh I will give Tebow praise but the overall sense of what he is given is above and beyond a normal level of "praise" When the man is constantly referred to as "superman" its gets kind of silly. So McFadden had 3 bad games and its over for him? Auburn has a stingy defense to say the least. They seemed to bottle up UF pretty well. I guess UK did alright against Mcfadden and held him to only 180 I think. I just think its a lot more even then people think. A lot of Timmy's running TD's were because he had to. Who was he going to give the ball to? Kestahn Moore?. Brennan also throws the ball 60 times a game and still completes 60 something % of his passes. A lot of Timmy's passes aren't the "deep ball". Sure the Gators take their shots with Percy down the field but it still is a control type offense and like I have said before Alex Smith had some pretty comparable numbers at Utah his senior year

brennan DOES throw the ball more...would be interesting to see what comparative analysis is versus a non-run and shoot type quarterback not named tebow....say boeckman

mcfadden is soft and goes down like a paris hilton.
he's worthy based on his statistics but he's soft and will be a nobody at the next level.

clearly not. He'll be in the top 2, but I don't think he should win.So McFadden had 3 bad games and its over for him?
Tebow was better against Auburn than McFadden. I noticed you skipped right over the FIU embarrasment for McFadden.Auburn has a stingy defense to say the least. They seemed to bottle up UF pretty well.
That's pretty shitty, actually, Joe.I guess UK did alright against Mcfadden and held him to only 180 I think.
I think a lot of people realize the vote will be close despite the fact that it shouldn't be.I just think its a lot more even then people think.
this is the argument that just doesn't make sense to try and knock someone with. Ok...so he had to (which is debatable anyway when we had red zone weapons like Percy, bubba, CI, Hernandez (ask UK about him), etc.), everyone knew he was going to get the ball and still couldn't stop him. Yep, seems like a hell of a reason not to give him the Heisman to me arcasm:A lot of Timmy's running TD's were because he had to. Who was he going to give the ball to? Kestahn Moore?.
A percentage is a percentage, Joe. Tebow was throwing 35 a game w/ a higher completion percentage. Extend the numbers and I bet the percentage won't change.Brennan also throws the ball 60 times a game and still completes 60 something % of his passes.
Pure myth.A lot of Timmy's passes aren't the "deep ball".
and Bubba and Murphy and CI and Cooper....Sure the Gators take their shots with Percy down the field
and he was a strong Heisman candidate too...what's your point?but it still is a control type offense and like I have said before Alex Smith had some pretty comparable numbers at Utah his senior year

In the interest of truth:
Among the top 100 rated quarterbacks in FBS, Tebow has the HIGHEST yards per attempt at 9.88 yards per attempt. Only FOUR QBs in the nation average over 9 yards per attempt. The remaining three are Paul Smith, Colin Kaepernick and Sam Bradford. Brennan's average is 8.84 yds per attempt.
So he doesn't throw the deep ball but he has the highest yards per attempt in the country?

the shovel pass is an underhanded 3 yard toss that goes down on the stat book as a 50 yard pass fyi.
