Nowhere near the top 25, but this was a huge game, y'all. A good read, and congratulations to Mids present and past.

The Domer's crowd was so pathetic, I could hear the Midshipmen on the teevee for more of the game than I could the Domer Homers.

I also loved the arrogance by the Cheeseburglar, going for it on 4th down in the 4th quarter, only to have Navy blow the play up. That was awesome!

Charlie Weis may go down as the biggest failure in the last twenty years as a HC. All that money and he is getting beat by Navy, all the while, the Pats offense is more explosive than it ever was with him in charge. He was a product of a system and it made him a ton of money and a huge buyout in his clause. Now, the team is worse than the one he inherited and the team he left is better.

The worst part about it is, did you see how fucking classless he was to the NBC reporter after the game. He is as big an arrogant prick as Belichek.

"What is this .500 bet?" asked the degenerate gambler with 100 bucks burning a hole in his pocket.

I missed what he said to the NBC reporter--what was it? He seemed like a dick in his press conference and I loved how he was rocking the sweatshirt, a la Belichek. Belichek is arrogant and a total slob on the sideline, but at least he's earned a few rings to back it up. The Cheeseburglar just rode those coattails and now he thinks he IS Belichek.

TTBGH, I thoroughly agree...it always made me crazy when I'd hear the talking heads talk about how great he was with the Pats...we obviously, it wasn't him...they are better than before! I think he was a MUCH bigger risk than ND was willing to admit and now they are paying for it since their risk did NOT pay off! LOL...and it couldn't have happened to a better school!
Okay, let's try this!

Not great quality video, but you get the idea. Note that this is 4th and 8 at the end of the game.

The blitzer is Ram Vela. The loser is Charlie Weis.

don't know if he interviewed, but Meyer visited ND. my recollection is he was there to turn down the job before it was officially offered.

meyer turned down nd, then they got chuck weiss adn teh media thought nd got the far better deal. i just remember how weiss was saying that with him calling the offense, notre dame would have a "schematic advantage" over any team they played. and i also recall how notre dame was supposed to be cleaning up in recruiting w/ the weisster.

my question is: has there ever been a bigger bust in all of college football coaching decisions?

The way I remember this -- y'all correct me if I'm wrong -- Notre Dame brought him in first and offered him the job for $1 million a year. That's right -- total bargain-basement wage, as if suddenly they were a MAC school or something (and, in more than one way, they are).

Florida had the Spurrier sitch-and-ditch that had the Gator boards in a screaming, howling uproar, including plenty of dumb assholes saying "I'll never cheer for the Gators again," as if their words were made of toilet paper and ought to be flushed, flushed away.

Machen and Foley (the Evil Twins! Evil Incarnate!) brought Meyer in, offered him $14 mil for seven years, and, oh, yeah: Florida doesn't suck.

I remember Meyer's quote being something like, "If you want to win now, you go to Florida."

I remember UM's first press conference...I knew right then he was going to do well here. And I was sad about SOS too, but part of me really didn't want him back...you can just never go back, ya know?
