Who didn't already know that? And who likes ketchup that much? It's the beige carpet of condiments.

Concur. Pound-for-pound, a good mustard beats out any other condiment, hands-down. There is just so much flavor there, even in the regular old yellow stuff. A little goes a long way.

Agree. I am a mustard lover. I think of ketchup like a painting medium. It's good for spreading around other flavors. With one exception: I was in Toronto last week for a conference, and there was a pub called the Queen and Beaver right outside our hotel. They made the best fries I've ever had, with this hand chopped sirloin burger and homemade ketchup. Now that was good ketchup, lots of flavor.

Yeah, you can sometimes get really good homemade ketchup (or as my father says, "catsup") from farmer's markets. Too bad two companies have complete control of almost the entire US ketchup market, though.

If I ever become the activist/protester type, I think I know what my pet cause will be. DOWN WITH BIG KETCHUP!

unfortunately of the two you have to go Heinz. Hunt's is red water.

I'm biased against Hunt's because I have a bizarre phobia of Roy Clark.
