Meyer says Addazio will stay offensive coordinator.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP)—Coach Urban Meyer expects to get Florida back to the “elite level,” and he plans to have offensive coordinator Steve Addazio along for the rebuilding project.

Meyer said Monday he has no plans to fire or demote Addazio, whose lackluster offense and underachieving offensive line are receiving the brunt of the blame for the program’s first three-game losing streak at home in more than two decades.

“I don’t think that will happen,” Meyer said. “I’m not into blame, I’m not into excuses. We’re into solutions.”

Let's hope he's trying to put a brave face on for the short term.

UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE! You would have to be blind not to see that SA is part of problem. Let's see - Dan Mullen as OC, we roll in 2008. SA as OC, we struggle on 09 and fail in 10. Do you sense a pattern here? When I was in the lab doing experiments, I would call this a statistically significant piece of data.

Maybe some Bull Gators can buy SA out?

Maybe Urban Meyer gets us to January and announces a new OC.

^ Or maybe he retires and Jeremy Foley names Lane Kiffin as our new head coach.

Well, that's not gonna happen. But I don't see an assistant in the house that I want to have taking over.

Charlie Strong, that was a guy I liked. Maybe Dan Mullen would make a better head coach, but Charlie Strong, I'm up for a three-year trial of that guy. Earl Everett without a helmet taking down the Heisman winner? That, my friends, is football.

Not defending Addazio. Hate the fucker. However, here is something to ponder:

Offense rolls in '08 (offense has Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin)

Offense sputters in '09 (lacks Percy Harvin)

Offense dies in '10 (lacks both Percy Harvin and Tim Tebow)

That would also be a statistically significant piece of data.

Guns can be reloaded. Programs can be too.

This motherfucker sure should be. And not every five-star hoss works out, sure. But not every Doering had five stars. Reidel Anthony was an underrated toss-in who came along for the Fred Taylor ride.

Yes you are correcthHowever, we didn't have Percy in 06, and Tim wasn't the starter, and we won the NC. Also a significant piece of data.

another piece of data. 08, the offensive line rocked. 09, cracks and subpar play. 10, worst offensive line I've seen @ UF.

Look, Percy Harvin was a great player, and Tim Tebow was a great player, but they weren't once-in-a-lifetime players.

This is Florida. Top-five program. One reloads. We DID reload. Top class after top class. Not every kid in a top class works out. That is and will always be the case, no matter the year, no matter the school.

Right now very few of them are working out, and that is a failure of coaching. Plain and simple. Players are not being adequately taught, and a team is not being adequately formed.

I concur - there is a failure with the coaching, especially O Line coaching.

Didn't catch the UM show after SC. What did he say?

Bill's FB friends are trying to get him to take their tickets for tomorrow's game. They can't even give them away. He is trying to talk me into taking the kids. I just don't have the energy or desire. Too much to do before Thanksgiving and quite frankly, this team just bores me. Still love the Gators, don't get me wrong, but not enough to drive my kids two hours to a game at 12:30 in the afternoon.

And slider, I saw it but I don't remember what he said...obviously it didn't make an impression. I still think he's a good coach, but he needs to adjust his staff and will obviously need to get more hands on with how they are coaching. shrug.
Okay, let's try this!

Again, don't mistake my post. I'm not defending Addazio. The dude sucks. He has to go. Period.

and slider, in '06, it was not our offense that rocked out all year (in the BCS NC game, yes, but not really at any other time)

Point taken Hater, but it was better than this offense is.

Bottom line - we did not win games just because of Tebow and Harvin. Yes they were major components obviously, but the team overall was much better. Keep in mind also that we won in 06 with Zook's recruits as well. Zooker was a good recruiter, but I don't recall having any of the top recruiting classes.

On paper, we should be rolling. And we are not.
