He was injured when he ran for that touchdown. I have seen several stories now that have effectively written off his career because he runs the ball to win. I anybody else getting pissed off at this?
If the devil had a name, it'd be Chuck Finley.

Linkage? Haven't read those articles yet. I'm sure he'll learn to slide when it's in the field, but at the end of a game for a TD? Tebow will NOT slide ever, book it.

I haven't seen anything that severe on Tebow since Mel Kiper.
But Tebow has the burden of underachieving Gator QBs to carry: Spurrier, Wuerffel, Johnson, Palmer, Grossman, Leak. None of these guys worked out all that well -- arguably Doug Johnson had the best career of the bunch, and he was pretty marginal. Grossman may flourish, given a chance this year in a real (i.e., non-Bears) offense.

I don't see how they can curse Tebow for that after I heard the hard-on love fest for that kid playing QB for Minn late in the SF game. They were in awe when he took off with the ball, talked about how big and strong he was....
Fuck the haters, let 'em hate. At the end of the day no one knows how Tebow will work out, I just hope he gets a legit chance and isn't put in a situation (game situation or play) that is doomed from the start.

I didn't know he got injured on that play...looked like his normal hit that he always made in college...and as usual, I figured the opposing team was hurting more than him. I'd like a link too so I can learn about his injury. How hurt is he?
Okay, let's try this!

bruised ribs I believe
“The Knave abideth.” I dare speak not for thee, but this maketh me to be of good comfort; I deem it well that he be out there, the Knave, being of good ease for we sinners.

How many times did he have bruised ribs (or other areas for that matter) in the SEC? If anything they should be looking at better protective gear. LOL
Okay, let's try this!

Tebow took a serioius shot on that run...he looked a little dazed when his teammates first helped him up.
Right or Wrong, with all the press he's been given, if/when he takes off to run, these NFL LB's are going to try and take his head off. Every time.

This is the big one:

Here's another one:
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/441245-tim-tebow-five-questions-raised-from-his-rib-injury
A friend of mine posted this on FB - the first article essentially writes him off after 1 quarter of action in a preseason game.
It's almost like these dumbass writers want Tim to fail so that they can say I Told You So and justify their criticisms of him.

From the first article
The bold seems pretty unfair criticism given his first start as a rookie in the NFL. Was this writer as critical of Sam Bradford? Or Mark Sanchez last year? But there have already been a ton of questions about Tebow and his game, enough concerns in some observers’ minds to think he’ll never be much of an NFL quarterback. While he worked hard in the spring to correct the hitch in his delivery, he reverted to the old habit in the preseason game against Cincinnati. He seemed to be thinking too much instead of throwing and the Bengals defenders seized upon his hesitation, hitting him several times. And then on his one heroic, old college play (with the Broncos trailing by 16 points at the time), the very thing that’s supposed to make him a “winner” in the NFL has put his second exhibition game in doubt.

Bleacher report hardly counts. I wouldn't even waste my time reading it.

I was more concerned about the first article.
Do you all agree that there are a lot of writers who want Tim to fail?

I don't know that there are a lot of people who want him to fail. However, there are a few who don't believe he'll make it.
Sort of like, I am predicting Virginia will lose to FSU...but I'm certainly hoping they beat them.

I don't know man. With all of the press he got pre-draft about whether or not he would succeed, there were a lot of haters out there. I have never seen a more scrutinized draft pick.

A lot of predictions, yes, as to what he would do. I don't recall anyone actually saying..."I hope he doesn't make it"

Not to get too hot, but I read an article about how the sports media is not much different than the regular media and there may be some animosity around his faith...being a Christian these days is like being some sort of a freak in the journalistic elite circles...and sports writers are often like the little brothers who want to be just as respected as their big brothers in the "real news".
Personally, I just think they are playing to the audience that is sick of hearing how great he is...there are a lot of haters out there, and the media wants to get their money as much as the others.

Yeah, because most sportswriters are Muslims who weren't born in the USA. Seriously, what the fuck.
Is anybody else as pissed off as I am about the Tebow coverage?
I didn't say anything about Muslims...that's not what I was getting at...not to mention I also didn't necessarily agree with that assessment, just it was something I read somewhere. I have read MANY comments attacking him for his faith and his openness about it though.

This is what I was referring to...again, I didn't make it up and don't necessarily think this is the issue. With rare exception (Denver Post columnist Woody Paige predicted stardom, maintaining that murder and mayhem are not the only qualifications for NFL success), the journalists have delighted in disparaging the Tebows as too "Christiany," a journalistic synonym for "fascist." You know, the kind of people whose vocal love for Jesus conjures up thoughts of a "Nazi rally," as the largest Boston sports radio station described a family gathering.
Tebow and his family are disliked because they are emphatically traditional, loving, and Christian. One Slate writer admitted to "queasiness on the part of media elites (me included) over the idea that the family really believes what it says it believes."

I see the guy teaches at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. I read his article, which is actually remarkably free of mentions of Christian athletes being seen as "freaks" by the "journalistic elite circles."
I stand by my what the fuck.

Isn't Liberty University the fruit of Jerry Falwell's seed?
