I've always thought our OOC in BB was weak, but so are most school's. This looks to be quite a schedule brewing next year.

Yeah. Next years schedule will be very difficult. Could be looking at the first sub 20 win season in quite some time. Although, I think they will be better without Nick. I was just not a fan of him. He is very talented but he seemed more interested in making himself better and not the team.

That statement reminds me of a lot of teams from the early 90's. Had some individual talent but no team.

What I worry about is this: that we have seen a whole hell of a lot of talent-but-no-team under Donovan.

I mean, we've seen three teams in the national championship too. I ain't forgetting that.

But this dude has not proven that he can build a team greater than the sum of its parts. Donovan recruited the '04s, but did he turn them into what they became? Or did a group of exceptional players make an exceptional commitment to the team concept?

I mean, I'm happy he's our coach. I'm happy he didn't bolt. I think there's room for improvement.

Toothy, I really think that is part of the 'ME' culture in todays society. So many kids want what they think is best for them and that doesn't always mesh with what is best for the team in their heads. It all worked out for the 04's and I think there are plenty of kids on this team that buy into the program like that too. To me, Nick was one of the 'ME' players.

I see this issue with 90% of the programs out there. Great talent, lack of team. That is why the 04's were so great cause they played as a team like no others.

You would think that would then become an easy sell for BD. Play like a team and the personal rewards at the next level are still possible.

Some kids/young adults have their own ideas (as well as the ones planted in their heads by others) on what it'll take for them to be successful. Hell, there are all kinds of selfish people out there in the world.
