When everyone is scared and getting out of the market, I would think that would be a good time to get in. Once things hit bottom that is. Where is the bottom though? Rather than getting out of the market altogether wouldn't it be better to invest in a sector that might do well with rising inflation...

Seems to me mortgage rates are not dropping in conjunction with the Fed interest rate cuts. I take it this is not a good economic sign.

Funny, I was thinking of this same idea yesterday. I'd like to get some better ideas on when to sell or hold funds and stocks. With the dollar weakening I have to say the stock market scares the crap out of me.

A quick check on the Alachua County website shows without the new amendment I would pay $7600 in taxes and with the new amendment about $6000. That will depend on the assessed value of the property - I'm using $390k. I was paying only $2500 on our old property which we sold at $300k. At least that g...
